Jessie’s Place recently received a sizable donation thanks to the generosity of athletic director Pleshette Smith and Jackson’s 1st Adult Kickball League, LLC.
A handful of women affiliated with the Mississippi-based group rented a truck and hand-delivered countless boxes filled with more than 300 items ranging from clothes to cleaning supplies to the facility.

“They were such a sweet group of women,” said program coordinator Grace Dugger. “It was really a surprise blessing. They wanted to donate supplies to a site in Birmingham and looked us up. Giving back to the community is one of their missions in Jackson and they told us they ‘love to spread the love.’”
