How We Help
Jessie’s Place offers a new clinically-structured Christian program called Life Recovery which aims to help women overcome various barriers that prevent them from developing a healthy, safe, and brighter future. In conjunction with the 11-12 week group process, Jessie’s Place offers individualized, evidence-based counseling for those who have experienced abuse, violence, or severe trauma.
In addition, our Stewart Learning Center provides highly-skilled specialists to assist women in preparing to enter the workforce. Through adult education, GED preparation, and job readiness training, we aim to stabilize and empower clients to ensure a healthy start to their careers.
After completing the program, graduates will be given the opportunity to enroll into our Continuum of Care which provides ongoing support services as clients secure employment and transition back into a life of independence.
All of these services are offered for FREE to those in need.
For His glory, we work to help transform those broken by the cycles of homelessness, abuse, and poverty into strong, purposeful women whose rekindled dreams define a new pathway to a greater and more fulfilling future.
What is Life Recovery?
This program teaches clients to make value-based decisions and develop a future story. Life Recovery promotes a healthy lifestyle leading people beyond rescue and to fulfillment.
Life Recovery focuses on six core principles:
Fulfillment: achieving a healthy lifestyle through balance in each dimension.
Motivation: achieving long-term change through intrinsic motivation.
Life Plan: setting life’s trajectory toward purpose and meaning through vision supported by routines.
Values: securing identity through practical values.
Decisions: revealing one’s true self through decisions directed by values, not emotions.
Emotional Maturity: identifying unhealthy perceptions and recognizing barriers to healthier emotions.
