We provide a nurturing environment that encourages the physical and spiritual growth of women and children.
How We Help
During an average stay of nine months to one year, our clients will work toward obtaining personal documentation for employment, acquiring a stable source of income, securing childcare and locating safe and functional housing. They accomplish this through our four-phase program.
Phases one through three take place during the client’s stay at Jessie’s Place, while the final stage is designed to accompany them into a life of independence.
The first half of the four-part program lasts approximately 12 weeks. Phase one focuses on learning with an emphasis given to enhancing interpersonal skills development and job preparedness. The second phase then introduces those principles into daily living and employment.
Transitioning is at the heart of phase three with the stable employment and adequate savings paving the way toward permanent housing.
The final step ushers in a continuum of care initiative that is designed to assist in, and learn from, the client’s independence. This understanding allows us to better equip future clients and promotes countless opportunities for these individuals to give back to, and mentor, other residents through events and classes at Jessie’s Place.
Our mission is to transform adults directly affected by homelessness, poverty-thinking, and/or addiction, into those who lead healthy, self-sufficient, and productive lives for the glory of God.
